Three tiers. Plain English. No surprises.
If anything below is unclear, email hello@doddy.co before you buy and I'll clarify in writing.
You own the files
After purchase, the files are yours. Doddy could shut down tomorrow and your sites keep working — there's no phone-home, no platform lock-in.
Customisation is unrestricted
Rename, restructure, restyle, rewrite — all fine. The only restriction is on redistributing the kit itself, as-is or substantially unmodified.
Updates for 12 months
Every license includes 12 months of versioned updates. After that the kit keeps working — you just won't get newer versions unless you renew.
Transfer rules
If you sell the business or client account the site is on, the license transfers with it. Just email me and I'll move the support seat over.
FAQ
Can I use the kit for a client project on the Commercial license?
Yes — Commercial covers one site, regardless of whether it's yours or a client's. If you build for multiple clients, you'll want the Agency license.
Can I edit the design beyond brand tokens?
Yes. Move sections, change layouts, swap fonts, restructure pages. The license restricts redistribution of the kit, not your derivative work.
What about open-source projects?
If your project is non-commercial, the Personal license is fine. If you want to redistribute the kit as part of an open-source repo, email me and we'll work out a custom arrangement.
Can I use Doddy kits inside a template marketplace listing?
No — that would be re-selling Doddy's product as your own. You can build a site on a kit and sell that site (or that client engagement); that's the normal use case.
